A few nights ago while I was talking with God, in the middle of our conversation He showed me an analogy of cards - which then made me realize I needed to give him my steering wheel and let Him lead me to the right destination - without constantly complaining and questioning from the backseat.
Now,
Life is like playing a card game. We have so many cards on our hands, and always pick the best card to counter our opponent's cards. When we want a nice car, we play the "car" card from our hand. When we want a big house, we play the "house" card from our hand. And when we're going after this special someone, we play the "I want to get this person" card from our hands. The thing is, we only see what's visible and in front of us - and place our cards according to what we see only. And when we don't get what we want, we blame God for bringing us through all the pain and so-called suffering.
On the other hand, God's cards are all that matters. He sees the cards that you play, sometimes he likes the card you play - and sometimes He doesn't like the card that you played but instead places His own card to teach and discipline us. The thing is, God doesn't only see what's currently visible and in front of us. He sees the future and what's ahead of us down the long road. He knows what's in store for us and what will happen if we took certain path according to the cards we play.
Every time we play a certain card from our hands, we always want it to work. But how many times do we ever commit it to God and let Him decide? We're always on the edge of telling Him what we want, but do we ever listen? And when He does speak, do we obey what He says to us?
Perhaps it's time to trust God, to plunge into the unknown with confidence that He will guide us, to commit everything in our lives to Him for He knows what's best for us. The catch is: It's not easy trusting God in the unknown for our future. It's going to be scary, but exciting at the same time. And the cool thing about your journey is that you have no map. You can't say with certainty what God has in store for you tomorrow, let alone where He will lead you next year. That's where the adventure of faith comes in. God knows exactly where you should be and what you should do every day of your life. If you can learn to trust Him - and look for ways to make the most of every day (including every free time you have) along the journey - you're in for the ride of your life.
