Pray For The People Who Give You The Most Grief
Hey there brothers and sisters in Christ! No matter how many times we fail in life; despite our countless mistakes and our circumstances in life, God still forgives us and look at us past our sins! Just so you know, Jesus has already won the battle for us! All we have to do now is to do His will on earth (Be the light of the world) and stay strong in the Lord =)
Today, I would like to remind all of us about praying for the people who gives us the most grief.
From the Bible, the book of Romans 12:14 says, "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse".
You might be wondering how are we suppose to pray for people who bring us trouble, accuses and blames us, find fault from us when we are innocent and all those crazy stuffs! Well, it definitely isn't easy but it is the right thing we all should do! Remember Matthew 5:44? It says, "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you". This was what Jesus told his disciples! He calls on all of us as followers of Christ to preach and practice Jesus' command to love our enemies!
But I just can't forgive what he/she did to me! I'm emotionally hurt because of him.
Hey! Jesus was able to forgive all those men who persecuted Him! He was able to forgive the whole of humanity because He loved us and still loves us! When he was hanging on the cross, He even cried out "Forgive them Father, for they do not know what they are doing" - Luke 23:34. I believe that if Jesus forgave all of us, loved all of us despite our sinful nature, we can also learn to forgive and love our enemies by setting Jesus as an example in our lives =)
Remember, whenever someone discourages you, ill-treats you, hurt you or even make a mess out of your life, you should forgive and pray for that person! Remember, prayer is a very powerful weapon, it can change lives and even your life as you pray for that person!
"Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend." - Martin Luther King Jr.
In conclusion, I encourage you brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for the people who give you the most grief, not forgetting to forgive and love them just as Christ forgave and loved us =)
